Bourbonzola Burger

This burger is topped with a bourbon glaze and gorgonzola cheese crumbles.

gorgonzola cheese crumbles

Make your hamburger patties as you normally would. Place them on the grill and baste them with the glaze on both sides as they cook.  Remove the burgers from the grill and add the cheese crumbles immediately so the heat will help to melt the cheese.

Bourbon Glaze:

1 cup bourbon whiskey
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup white vinegar

1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 pinch dry mustard
salt and pepper to taste

In a medium bowl, combine bourbon, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, and mustard. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
