OKTOBERFEST BEER BRATS

3-4 (12-oz) bottles Oktoberfest beer
1/2 onion, sliced
1 tablespoon butter
Melt the butter in a Dutch oven and saute the onions for 1-2 minutes. Layer the brats on top of the onions and cover with beer. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 8-10 minutes. Grill or broil the brats for 8 minutes on each side or until browned. Serve on rolls with mustard.
