NY Pizza Pasta

Penne pasta with sausage, pepperoni, onion, peppers, marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.

O'Charley's Copycat Recipe

1 lb penne pasta
1 package of pepperoni
1 package of hot Italian sausage links (if you don’t like spicy food, you can use sweet or mild sausage)
1 1/2 jars of pasta sauce (if you like a lot of sauce, you can use a little more, if not, a little less)
2 cups mozzarella cheese

Remove sausage from the casings and cook in a frying pan until done. Drain excess fat.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Boil water and then cook pasta following the directions based on the type you are using.
Once pasta and sausage is cooked, but the pasta in a large baking dish and mix in sauce until pasta is well coated (the sauce doesn't have to be hot because it will heat in the oven) Mix in sausage and some cut up pepperoni. Top with the mozzarella cheese.

Notes: The dish served at O'Charleys Restaurant also contains green peppers and onions which you can add as you cook the sausage if desired.
